My name is Jonathan Lewis, I am a Power BI/SQL certified professional with over 7 years of experience working with database objects in conjunction with configuring SSIS packages and ETL solutions per business requirements. My college studies centered around computer science origin , and I have worked in online marketing, as well as the education and healthcare industries with SQL versions 2012, 2014, and 2016- current.

I have several years of experience in SQL working with user-defined and system functions, Developing and Implementing Stored Procedures, as well as creating and managing views, indexes and Triggers. I have excellent management of indexes (both non-clustered and clustered) and unique constraints when dealing with normalization of a databases. I have extensive education combining data from multiple sources using joins and have worked with OLTP and OLAP databases. I also possess considerable know-how on transactions in association with but not limited to logging and locking as well. I am proficient in the use of CTE’s (Common table expressions) and have a fervent knowledge of data manipulation using temporary tables and variables. I also have an expertise in query optimization as well as performance tuning using SQL profiler and execution plan.

Delving into SSIS, I have an immense knowledge of ETL formatting as well as creating complex SSIS packages with expressions and variables using different transformations and tasks like, but not limited to, Script task, Data flow task, Execute SQL task, as well as script component. I have years of expertise in consolidating and validating data using Conditional split and data conversion just to name a few. I also have a good working grasp of error handling and auditing as well as logging errors using the event handlers within my SSIS packages. I am aware of package optimization as well as package deployment. I also have great command when implementing complex integration of SQL Server, Oracle, flat file sources and IBM mainframe DB2.

With respect to Power BI, I have a great understanding of developing various types of complex reports containing Complex DAX and functionality like Bookmarks, Drill Down, Drill Through. Also having visuals such as Gauges, Pie Charts, Bar Charts, Decomposition trees and visual geographical maps, with incorporation of cascading parameters as well. I am well versed in data modeling within this program as well as relationship defining. I have keen familiarity in the creation of color coding per business requirement for any KPI’s (Key performance indicator) that are wanted to be seen by stakeholders or corporate members within your given reports. I also have wide knowledge in creating cross report filtering on dashboards, as well as creating QA environments, Migrating SSRS to PBI, RLS security (Defining audience per report), and creating Apps to house your enterprise PBI reports.
